While it wasn’t much of a surprise to hear that Hillary Clinton is backing Barack Obama, I was amused when flipping through a recent issue of eWeek. One of my favorite reporters, Darryl K. Taft, got into the game of acronym jive, following the tradition of LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP). He’s got promising new acronyms including:

SLAP — Spring, Linux, Apache, PHP
JIVE — Java, Internet, Virtualization, Enterprise

As well as this cool newcomer, composed of a large company, de facto web server, and two technologies near and dear to my heart, being supported by the Tasktop and SpringSource Tool Suite efforts.

OBAMA — Oracle, BEA, Apache, Mylyn, Aspect-oriented
