• IBM Rational Requirements Composer Synchronization

With the IBM Rational Requirements Composer Connector, Sync can now retrieve requirements from IBM Rational Requirements Composer servers and synchronize changes between them and other repositories.

  • IBM Requisite Pro Synchronization

With the IBM Requisite Pro Connector, Sync can now retrieve requirements from IBM Requisite Pro servers and push changes from IBM Requisite Pro to other repositories.

  • IBM Rational ClearQuest Synchronization

With the IBM Rational ClearQuest Connector, Sync can now retrieve objects from IBM Rational ClearQuest servers and synchronize changes between them and other repositories.  Sync also supports servers using IBM Rational ClearQuest MultiSite.

  • CA Product Vision and Agile Vision Synchronization

With the CA Product Vision and Agile Vision Connector, Sync can now retrieve tasks, user stories, issues, and requirements from CA Product Vision and Agile Vision and synchronize changes between them and other repositories.  Sync can also synchronize QC tests to populate CA Agile Vision's Link to Test Case feature.

  • Web Monitor UI

Sync now includes a remote, password-protected, web monitoring user interface. This monitoring interface allows multiple administrators to easily observe the health of a Sync installation from anywhere on the web.

The interface includes the status of currently executing synchronizations, a summary of past synchronizations between pairs of tasks, a list of outstanding errors in synchronizations, as well as a summary dashboard including aggregate synchronization statistics. To further analyze problems or provide information for support requests, the web UI also allows administrators to download all of the available Tasktop Sync log files.

  • Improved Statistics

Sync now provides a breakdown of synchronization statistics providing better insight into the existence of bottlenecks in the ALM architecture and how to solve them.

Time spent during synchronization is now tracked by category to include time spent queued, processing, pending (waiting to retry synchronization due to repository issues), and time spent communicating with repositories. This categorization also allows Sync to prevent server downtime from skewing aggregate synchronization statistics.

  • Improved Change Detection

Building upon attribute-level change detection from previous version of Tasktop Sync, 2.4 includes an improved detection mechanism which uses a finer-grained control to manage the synchronization state of tasks that require synchronization. This detection allows Sync to properly synchronize tasks that have already been queried while Sync was stopped or paused, and it also improves the handling of synchronization of tasks which were previously in an error state.

  • Improved Validation

Further improving Sync's extensive configuration validation, 2.4 includes further configuration validation improving the ability of administrators to quickly determine the cause of and solution to configuration errors during setup and maintenance of Sync.

  • Support Detection of Copied Tasks

In Sync 2.4, Sync can detect the copying of tasks within the same or different project areas in a repository. This allows users to copy tasks, even if they have been previously synchronized, and Sync will create a new proxy task in the alternate repository for the copied task.

  • Repair Missing Proxy Associations

Sync can now detect missing proxy associations between pairs of synchronized tasks and restore the associations without data loss. This allows users to revert tasks in a repository to a previous revision, even if the previous revision was never synchronized. This also allows Sync to recover from accidental deletion of proxy associations on a task.

  • Error Breakdown by Category

Tasktop Sync now includes a detailed breakdown of errors in its error email notification. This allows administrators to quickly determine the cause of problems, such as an unavailable target repository, and take appropriate action.
